Teacher's Favorite Hangman Dictionary Editor Features
Teachers now you can enter your own terms and definitions into a hangman game program so that it can truly match the material your students are studying in your classroom! You make TFHangman dictionary files using the TFHangman Dictionary Editor and provide exactly the content you want.
The freely distributable version of Teacher's Favorite Hangman should be considered trial-ware. It gives you a chance to try out the Teacher's Favorite Hangman program and Teacher's Favorite Hangman Dictionary Editor, but you will be limited in that each dictionary file you create can have a maximum of 10 terms/definitions. However, you can buy a registration code that once entered into the dictionary editor program will allow you to create dictionary files with hundreds of terms and definitions.
Also, please note that dictionary files created using the Macintosh or Windows version of the dictionary editor can be used with the Teacher's Favorite Hangman program on either system.
What's new in this version (2.1)?
"Correct Answer Is" and "You Win" dialog boxes updated to better match the appearance of the main game play window. When creating a new hangman dictionary it is no longer necessary that it have the .hmd suffix.
Compatibility of Dictionary Files
To open dictionary files made on the Mac in the Windows version of TFHangman add a .htm suffix to the file name.
Files made on the Windows platform or in the oldest versions of the Mac OS dictionary editor will need to be updated before TFHangman will recognize them. To update these files simply open them with the dictionary editor. The update happens transparently and automatically as the dictionary editor opens the file. For the dictionary editor to recognize the dictionary file as being in the older format, or being from the Windows platform, the .htm suffix may be necessary. However, once the file is updated it can be removed if the file will only be used on the Mac.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS Version: Mac OS 8.1 or higher. Mac Speech control panel, Speech Manager extension, and voices folder should be properly installed for speech feature.
REGISTER
Registration is only required for the Teacher's Favorite Hangman Dictionary Editor program if you would like to make dictionary files with more than 10 words. There is no registration fee for the game (Teacher's Favorite Hangman) itself.
Version 1.x registration codes will not work with Version 2.x of the Dictionary Editor. However, if your Teacher's Favorite Hangman Dictionary Editor Version 1.x registration order was processed after Dec. 31, 2000 you can get a free Version 2.x registration code by sending an email requesting a free Version 2.x registration code to info@fastrabbitsoftware.com Otherwise you should purchase a Version 2.x registration code from Kagi.
What is covered in a single user license purchase? You may install the Teacher's Favorite Hangman package with all associated files (Teacher's Favorite Hangman, Read Me First document, Register program, Teacher's Favorite Hangman Dictionary Editor program) to as many computers as you would like. All files should be included each time and kept together as a package. You may play Teachers Favorite Hangman on any or all of these machines without purchasing a registration code. You should purchase a registration code for each machine where Teacher's Favorite Hangman Dictionary Editor will be used to make lists of more than 10 words. (Actually, without the registration code you can't make lists with more than 10 words.) Once you have made lists you may copy them to other machines or share them with friends. Please do not share registration code information. The fees I receive are used to help fund development of this and other shareware titles.
